PTTEP Myanmar Asset Congratulates to 15 Myanmar Scholarship Graduates from Third Batch of High Vocational Diploma

09 April 2019, Yangon, Myanmar – PTTEP Myanmar Asset presented recognition certificates to 15 Myanmar scholarship students from third batch of High Vocational Diploma Scholarship Program (HVD) at IRPCT College, Rayong Province, Thailand on 28 March 2019. The graduation ceremony was attended by General Manager of PTTEP Myanmar Asset, Mr. Piya Sukhumpanumet together with Director General of Oil and Gas Planning Department (OGPD), Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) and other representatives from Ministry of Education.

At the ceremony, PTTEP Myanmar Asset’s General Manager, Mr. Piya Sukhumpanumet said, “This year is 30th anniversary of PTTEP in Myanmar, and throughout our operating years, PTTEP Myanmar Asset has continuingly invested in building a skilled and competent workforce for both our business and the country’s development. Therefore, we implemented various educational programs for Myanmar students and employees. Since the talented young people play as a main role in shaping the future of the country, we introduced the HVD Scholarship Program to empower a competent workforce for the country’s development.”
 
“Moreover, PTTEP Myanmar Asset provides trainings in both domestic and oversea for the career development of our national employees. Currently, the ratio of Myanmar employees at PTTEP Myanmar Asset is 59 percent and we expect to further increase up to 75 percent by 2023.” Mr. Piya said.
 
Launched in 2013, the HVD Scholarship Program is a full, bond-free scholarship program offered by PTT Group and its subsidiaries, including PTTEP, Thai Oil Public Company Limited (TOP), PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC), Global Power Synergy Plc. (GPSC) and IRPCT, to Myanmar students from the Associate of Government Technical Institute (AGTI). Under this program, students undergo four years of vocational education in Mechanical at the IRPCT including internship period in Thailand. To date, the HVD Scholarship program has granted 150 scholarships to the students from ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) countries.
