The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between PTTEP Myanmar Asset and Alliance for Smiles was held at Novotel Yangon Max hotel on 14 May 2019. Fulfilling its commitment to contribute to the local community, PTTEP Myanmar Asset donated USD 100,000 to cover the transformative surgery of 100 children suffering from cleft lip and cleft palate. This initiative unlike others in the past will benefit recipients nationwide.

PTTEP Myanmar Asset’s General Manager, Mr. Piya Sukhumpanumet remarked at the signing ceremony that “As a long-term partner and investor in Myanmar for 30 years, contributing to the local community – especially to the less fortunate – is one of our corporate priorities.”

“Children born with this condition not only have to face physical challenges but also emotional challenges. We have heard and seen several touching stories from the families of the kids who had their operations done. Beyond the physical benefits, it is an impress for us to see these kids being able to live their life with no struggles and just smiles. We are very pleased with the results of this cooperation with Alliance for Smiles – PTTEP Myanmar Asset 100 Smiles Project. Knowing that this benefits not only the individuals but the entire community, we would consider this project as part of our CSR programs in the future.” said Mr. Piya.

Mission Director Tina Fischlin, Alliance for Smiles said “It is a great honor for Alliance for Smiles to be recognized by PTTEP Myanmar Asset for its cleft lip and palate surgeries. As long as there is a need, we are committed to returning to help the children of Myanmar.”
